Noyes Baldwin enlisted and mustered in as captain, Company B, 1st Battalion, Nevada Cavalry, July 1, 1863. He was promoted to major and was transferred to Field and Staff March 21, 1865, and was discharged July 21, 1866.

Baldwin 49 Wife, Melville N. Baldwin 20 Son, Stella S. Baldwin 17 Daughter, George L. Baldwin 10 Son, Josephine Baldwin 7 Daughter, Grace Baldwin 5 Daughter, Florence Baldwin 2 Daughter. Lander, Wyo., January 12. Mayor Noyes Baldwin, one of the pioneers of Wyoming, died at his residence here this morning. The deceased was a native of Connecticut. He went to California in 1849 and from there went to Nevada. During the war he raised a battalion of Nevada cavalry and served in Utah and Wyoming with George Connor. He was a conspicuous figure in Wyoming history for more than a quarter of a century.
