A retired construction worker and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 75 and a native of Knox. Visiting at Capital Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, April 24, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. R.L. Robertson. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens.
Survived by his wife, Ulla Washington Neal; daughters, Karen Neal, Velma N. Lenoir, Kathy Neal and Linda N. Robertson and husband Donald, of Baton Rouge, and Cheryl N. Payne and husband Marvin; special son, John Neal Jr. and wife Tangie, of Saginaw, Mich.; sisters, Mary Turner and Savannah Neal, of Baton Rouge, and Cleo Hooper and husband Edward, of Vidalia; two brothers and a special sister-in-law, John and Addie Neal, and James Neal, all of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
