Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Floyd Haddock, retired minister of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Natalia was born Nov. 24, 1914, in Bryan County, Okla., to Millard and Leona McKinnis. On May 25, 1928, she married Roy Earl Byrd. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1976. She was a devoted homemaker for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in serving others and making a perfect stranger feel welcome. We will cherish the memories of our mother, grandmother and friend.
Natalia had been a resident of Moore County since 1946 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her son, Donald; and five grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Roy Dale Byrd, Larry Byrd and wife Mary Ann, and Gary Byrd, all of Dumas; eight daughters, Daphne Lackey of Sunray, Fern Page and husband Bobby Joe of Slaton, Shirley Hokanson and husband Tom, and Gloria Adams and husband Roger, all of Dumas, Ramona Wren and husband Jerry, and Rhodora Alberty and husband Pete, all of Amarillo, Patricia Smith and husband Galen of Round Rock, and Carolyn McGee and husband Ed of Lubbock; 33 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 1535, Dumas, TX 79029; Memorial Hospice, 224 E. Second, Dumas, TX 79029; or to Calvary Baptist Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 633, Dumas, TX 79029.
