Mrs. Carmela Vitale of 10 Ferry Street, West Nanticoke, died last night at 9:15 in Mercy Hospital where she was a patient one week.
Born in Messina, Sicily, Mrs. Vitale came to America 65 years ago. She formerly lived in South Wilkes-Barre, but the last two and a half years resided with her son, Joseph, in West Nanticoke. She as a member of St. Francis Church.
Survivng are these children: Anthony, Camden, NJ; Mrs. Leonard Morgan, Mountaintop; Michael, Sal vatore, Mrs. George Zett, Daniel, Sebastian, all of Wilkes-Barre; Joseph, West Nanticoke; John, Patterson, NJ; also 37 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Friday at 9 from the funeral home, 614 Hanover Street, Nanticoke, with a Requiem Mass at 9:30 in St. Francis Church, Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call tonight 7 to 10 and Thursday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10.

Relatives here have been informed of the death of Carmella Vitale, 72, in her residence at 10 Ferry St., West Nanticoke, Luzerne County.
A former Reading resident, she was born in Italy, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Concetta (Maniaci) Ninfo. Her husband, Salvtore Vitale, died about 35 years ago.
Surviving are two daughters: Amelia, widow of Leonard Morgan, Mountaintop, and Catherine, wife of George Zett, Wilkes-Barre; seven sons: Anthony, of Camden, NJ; John, of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, and Michael, Harry, Joseph, Daniel and Sebastian, all of Wilkes-Barre; two sisters: Mrs. Angela Cerniglia and Sadie, wife of Frank Iannucci, both of Reading.
Arrangements are in charge of the Stegura Funeral Home, Nanticoke.
