Mr. Paul was born in Gilman, Iowa, and was the widower of Annie Elizabeth Paul. He retired from the United States Navy in 1969 as a chief petty officer with 23 years of service. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and a Navy veteran of World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Moreau of Virginia Beach. He was predeceased by a son, Frederick "Fritz" Stephen Paul.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Princess Anne Memorial Park by the Rev. Bill Clevenger. Military honors will be accorded. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel.
