Charles Gullett was a son of Robert Gullett and Sarah Morrison Gullett. His sisters were Mary Gullett, Sarah A. Gullett Miller, and, possibly/probably, Rebecca Gullett Miller. Charles also had an older stepsister, Amelia Rickards Fleming, and five younger half siblings, Anna Gullett, Abraham R. Gullett, Ruth Gullett, Elizabeth Gullett, and Robert Gullette. Charles married Anne Smith, daughter of Ralph Smith and Esther Hubbard Smith, in Dearborn County, IN on February 11, 1836. Their five children were Mary E. Gullett Strout, Sarah E. Gullett, Rebecca Gullett Beckett, Amanda "Anna" Gullett Gibbins, and Robert S. Gullett.
1915 History of Dearborn and Ohio Counties: "Charles Gullett, farmer, Washington Township, was born in Delaware, July 28, 1810, where he received a fair education. His parents, Robert and Sarah (Morrison) Gullett, were natives of Delaware where his mother died. His father came to this State in 1828. His second wife was Rebecca Gullett, with whom he lived until his death March 28, 1843. His second wife died May 2, 1870 in her eighty-fifth year. Mr. Charles Gullett was married, February 11, 1836, to Miss Anna Smith, a native of the township, born March 6, 1818. To them were born five children: Mary E., born November 29, 1830; Sarah E., born April 11, 1842; Rebecca, born June 12, 1845; Minnie, born January 29, 1848; Robert, born June 12, 1850. Mr. Gullett has been a hard working farmer all his life, and in his old age is enjoying good health. He and his excellent wife belong to the Methodist Episcopal Church. Mr. Gullett's father was in the war of 1812, but was discharged in a short time. The old gentleman was a farmer all through life, and a consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal Church."
