John J. Dommer, age 77, of 153 35th St. NE, passed away Monday afternoon in Aultman Hospital after an extended illness. He was a life resident of Canton and retired July 1, 1975, from the Ohio Dept. of Highways at Ravenna, where he was an appraiser in the Right of Way Division. Previously he was employed 32 years by the Canton YMCA. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in North Canton; Canton Lodge # 60, F & AM; the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton; and all York Rite Bodies. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred J. Dommer, with whom he celebrated their 47 wedding anniversary on Nov. 23, 1986; his sister, Mrs. Loren (Dorothy) Decker of Canton; his brother, William Dommer of Louisville.
