Deceased was born in Tabor, Bohemia in 1857, and with his parents and brothers and sisters, came to America when he was two years of age. The family located in Manitowoc county near Milnik, where he was raised. At the age of 25 years, he was married and settled on a farm near Milnik where they resided for several years. In 1903 they came to Chippewa County and settled on a farm in the Town of Anson, which has since been his home.
Mr. Podhola is survived by his wife, who also resides with the elder son, Henry, also, another son, James and one daughter Emil Nething, of Rice Lake; 14 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Witt of Chicago, Mrs. Emma Juska of Milladore, and Mrs. James Hlada of Ravenna, Nebraska; two brothers, Frank Podhola of Cadott and Wenzel Podhola of Drywood also survive.
Funeral services were held from the residence in Anson at 12:00 Sunday afternoon.
Services were conducted under the auspices of the Drywood Bohemian Society, of which Mr. Podhola was a member. Interment was made in the Bohemian Cemetery at Drywood.
