Born in Czechoslovakia on May 14, 1861, she came to the United States with her parents at the age of two years and settled in the Manitowoc country. She married Anton Podhola in 1882 and they came to Cadott in 1903, residing in this vicinity since. Her husband died in 1928.
Mrs. Podhola is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ed (Blanche) Nethig of Barron; two sons, Henry of Anson and Wenzel of the town of Arthur; 15 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Leiser Funeral Home at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon with Rev. Edw. B. Swenson officiating. Wm. Buresh conducted the services at the Bohemian Cemetery where burial was held.
During the services, Mrs. Del Forman sang two hymns. Pallbearers were Ed and Frank Moucha, Jos. and Albert Nesvacil, Frank Peterlik and Mike Hrdlicka.
The following out-of-town relatives attended the funeral: Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nethig, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bergerson and Mrs. Dick Hanson of Barron; Henry Nethig of Beloit; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Voss of Carpentersville, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Jandrt, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Wallace, Mr. and Mrs. Streeter Watson, and Mr. and Mrs. David Popp of Colburn; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Baumgaertner, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ripienski, Mr. and Mrs. Ingwald Berg, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kamp of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Milo Podhola of Jim Falls.
