Excerpt of a letter written by L. Earl Roquet to his 2nd cousin Arthur Roquette (son of George Washington Roquette) of River Falls, Wi. on Sept. 8, 1975

Dear Arthur,
Your grandparents were already seperated when Phillip came to stay with us. It must have been about 1894. I presume they had divorced. Phillip always said he was German but he was fifty per cent French and that is where we get the French name. He was quite stern and set in his ways. A small man of about five feet seven inches tall, weighing possibly 135 pounds. He hardly left the farm, doing alot of garden, yard and farm work. Dad had a work shop in our shed and Philip put in alot of time out there. He liked tools and wood working.
