He was born Dec. 19, 1926, in Sheridan County, to Peter J. and Caroline Wehner Ladenburger, and spent most of his life in the Grainfield community. He was a farmer and active in grain and real estate sales. He was a co-owner of Midway Realty in Grainfield.
He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Grainfield, Park Council No. 2538 of Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club in Grainfield and Elks Lodge in Hoxie.
He married Marianne Baalman on Dec. 28, 1949, in Seguin in Sheridan County. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Robert W. Ladenburger, Grand Junction, Colo., and Jay T. Ladenburger, Topeka; three daughters, Dixie Heinrich, Great Bend, M. Cheryl Patrick, Sugar Land, Texas, and Patricia Kennedy, Hoxie; a brother, George Ladenburger, Oakley; a sister, Lorena McConnell, Westminster, Colo.; and 14 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Grainfield. Burial will be in Grainfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home in Oakley, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gove County Healthcare Endowment Foundation or the Grainfield Opera House Restoration Fund.
