Mrs. Iva Joy Munn, age 78, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, July 19, 2020, at the Harbor Lakes Nursing Home in Granbury, Texas.
She was born September 3, 1941, in Wise County, Texas, a daughter of the late Coleman and Naomi Meek.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jimmy Munn; her brother and his wife, Dennis and Joyce Meek; and her sister, Betty Cantrell.
She was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her beloved family. “Memaw” devoted her life to her loved ones, including her dear friends, and enjoyed many hobbies in life; especially sewing, drawing and cooking. Although she worked for a short time in the past for Sun City Fashions and Quick Wash Laundry, her biggest and best accomplishment was as her time as a homemaker and matriarch to her family. She was always kind, gracious and giving, and a devoted follower of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. To say that she will be missed is a great understatement and testament of the absolute light and joy she brought to our lives.
Joy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Misch’a and Glenn Johnson; and a son and daughter-in-law, Neil and Susan Munn; five grandchildren, Heather Feiner, Jordan Watts, Drew Watts, Brittany Williamson, and Christopher Munn; three great-grandchildren, Alex Feiner, Nicholas Feiner, and Tristan Feiner; and two more great-grandchildren arriving in late 2020; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Cantrell. She also leaves many other family members who will greatly miss her.
