She came to Red Willow county in March, 1880 and has lived here continuously since that time.
The funeral was held at the home at 2 o'clock Wednesday, after which the remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in the Danbury cemetery, the funeral being largely attended.
In her long life Grandma Smith had endeared herself to a large circle of friends who always found her accommodating and ready to help in time of need and she will be greatly missed by all.(Taken from obituary - Marion Enterprise, pg 1, Thursday November 12, 1914.)
