Julia Smith, born May 29, 1925 to Joseph Magyar and Mary Hrzenjak, passed away May 10, 2010, nineteen days shy of her 85th year after a ``hunky tough' battle with lymphoma.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Sebastian; son-in-law, Arthur Dobbin; and siblings, Joseph, Anna, Steve, George, Irene and Frank Magyar.
A longtime resident of Akron, Julia was born and raised on the family farm in Chippewa Township, Doylestown, Ohio where she attended a one-room school house. A four foot nine stubborn woman with a heart of gold to family, friend, and strangers alike, no one could forget Julia's ornery personality as they think of their Mom, Granny, Aunt Gimmie, Aunt Julia, and Yulishka. She was a frequent estate auction addict who couldn't pass up a bid on a $.50 cent lamp, nor could she resist giving a helping hand to anyone in need. Loved by many, Julia will be dearly missed.
Julia is survived by her children, Patricia Dobbins, Sebastian Smith, Glenn (Sandra) Smith, Rebecca (Daniel) Adams, and John Smith. She leaves fourteen much loved grandchildren behind, Artie (Wendy) and Patrick (Kathy) Dobbins, James Miller, Jamie (John) Eaton, Sebastian (Sherry) and Julie Smith, Jennifer (Paul) Masiella, Brandon and Glenn Jordan Smith, Daniel (Michelle), Paul and Christina Adams, and Colleen and Amber Smith, Tamara and twenty great-grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Anna, Arianna, Artie, Ashley, Atley, Charlie, Darion, Dylan, Eddie, Emily, Emma, Gabby, Gavan, James, Jodan, Maggie, Melodie, and Thomas. In addition, Julia also leaves behind, her sister, Helen Dorff, close friend, Shirley, and many nieces, nephews and relatives.
``She may be gone but the kindness and love she spread will always be apart of us.'
