Doris Younger -Pfeifer, 84, Hays, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Hays Good Samaritan Center. She was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Victoria to Bonaventure J. and Gertrude (Brungardt) Linenberger.

She married Albert Younger on Feb. 18, 1946, in Victoria. He preceded her in death March 21, 1981. She later married Albert Pfeifer on May 26, 1984, in St. Peter. He preceded her in death May 29, 1995.

She was a homemaker, a farmer and worked at Travenol Labs for 10 years. She lived in Victoria, WaKeeney and moved to Hays in 2002. She was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, and Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney.

Survivors include two sons, Mark A. Younger and wife, Twila, Salina, Marlin Younger and wife, Sue, McPherson; three daughters, Mary Strecker-Carpenter and companion, Elwyne Myers, Grand Island, Neb., Magdalen "Maggie" Pechanec and husband, Gregg, Hays, and Myra Younger and husband, George, Victoria; two brothers, John Linenberger and wife, Marlene, Manhattan, and Leo Linenberger and wife, Norma, Salina; two sisters, Virginita Linenberger, Hays, and Bonita Schulte and husband, Gary, Salina; 12 grandchildren, Kelly Younger, Kevin Younger, Tammy Mattison, Tracy Strecker, Thais Schmitz, Todd Carpenter, Melissa Messerli, Dustin Younger, Beth Dreher, Matthew Pechanec, Christy Werth and Cole Younger; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Michael Joseph Younger; six brothers, Edwin Linenberger, Gilbert Linenberger, Dennis Linenberger, Verlin Linenberger, Thomas Linenberger and Patrick Linenberger; a sister, Henrietta Giebler; and an infant brother, Clarence Linenberger.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Friday, both at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671. A vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, or Masses in care of the mortuary.
