Alexander Valley was named after Cyrus Alexander. At the early formation of this valley Ira Bidwell and Cyrus Alexander were the only residents of the valley. Cyrus Alexander built his family home and orchards. Mr. Alexander became a leader in building the community. He built the valley's first schoolhouse and started three local churches. Cyrus and his wife Rufina along with five of their children are buried in this small family cemetery on the property. FAG doesn't believe him to be famous, but I (Don Bedwell)do!
