Registered Nurse Gertrude E. Lindstrom Mick, 92, died Thurs., April 22, 2010 at Forestview Health Care Center. She was born Aug. 1, 1917 in Corry, daughter of the late Oscar F. and Alma Hedin Lindstrom. A 1935 graduate of Corry High School and 1939 graduate of Hamot School of Nursing, Mrs. Mick worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years retiring in 1980. She was a member of Luther Memorial Church and a former member of Bethany Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Martha Circle, was a member and past-treasurer of Lutheran Church Women and served on the Bereavement Committee. Mrs. Mick gave flu shots throughout Erie County from 1990 to 2001, volunteered her time tutoring reading to first graders at JoAnna Connell School, was a member of Hamot Alumni Nurses Assoc., and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and doing cross stitch. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, John H. Mick who died Sept. 6, 1977 and a sister, Mildred Akam.
