__________
Burial information for Peter Johnson:

"Peter Johnson's wife and daughter's graves are well marked but the stone placements are a little eccentric.

"I have a picture of Eleanor Johnson's grave with the footstone in the foreground. The writing on the headstones faces away from the grave itself. Joannah's grave is on the left looking from the foot of the graves. If, as one might suspect, they were buried next to Peter's pre-existing grave this burial would be to their left next to Joanna.

"The space on the right of the women's graves is rather narrow for a burial to have been on that side. At this point there are no stones and no signs on the right side (or elsewhere in the cemetery) remaining to show that a stone was previously there. Once again, perhaps Paul Heady Hubert who first listed this burial will know where Peter Johnson was buried in the cemetery.

"Paul Hubert reported that the grave is there and his information is usually accurate. I suspect that Peter Johnson's grave is no longer marked. The stones are shale and are vulnerable to water seeping between the layers -- freezing and thawing destroying the stone. I will return to the cemetery which is nearby and check specifically for any sign of this grave. It is a beautiful setting and always worth visiting."
