Son of Jefferson Parker and Mariah Frances Williams.
His first wife was a Sarah A. ______ .
Second wife was a Mrs. Rebecca "Becky" M. Payne Pool of Blue Ball, Scott County, Arkansas, that he married on 9/29/1904. Ralph also lived at Blue Ball at the time.
Father of the following children:
Mary J. Parker 1870 –
Jefferson Parker 1873 –
John Wesley Parker 1876 – 1941
Albert Parker 1879 –
Civil War veteran. He served as a private with Company E, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, US Army. This was NOT a Confederate unit. He enlisted on 15 Oct 1863 in Yell Co, Arkansas. Records show he was 5' 6", with blue eyes and light colored hair with a light complexion. His occupation was a farmer and was 18 years of age when he enlisted which would put him being born in 1845. The record also verifies he was born in Gibson County, Tennessee. He was absent from duty in September 1864 for a period of time but returned. On January 1, 1865, he and a Pvt. David Castleberry deserted the regiment but both returned on March 25/26,1865. The record shows Parker claimed they could not return quicker due to enemy forces in the area. Both soldiers desertion marks were expunged later on. It seems that many of the men who enlisted in 1863 were told they were only enlisting for one year but their records reflect it was for three years. So, at the end of one year, a lot of them simply went home.
