Florence Morning News-Hartsville-Wilson S. Barnes, 74, resident of the High Point community of Darlington Co., died yesterday at a local hospital after an illness of several weeks.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Mt. Elon Baptist Church with Rev. E.M. Leonard in charge. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Barnes joined Mt. Elon Church 45 years ago and was a member of the board of deacons.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Fannie Northcutt Barnes, three daughters, Mrs. C.B. Williamson, Norfolk, Va.,Mrs. R.E. Galloway, Charleston, Mrs. L.L. Baggett, Paris Island, one son, C.S. Barnes, Aiken; four sisters, Mrs.Gordon Roberts and Mrs. Marvin Roberts, both of Fitzgerald, Ga., Mrs. B.W. Woodham, Donalsonville, Ga. and Mrs. R.S. McLendon, Lydia; six grandchildren.
