Frank Throckmorton, 65, former Greene County district attorney and a well known Waynesburg attorney for the past 27 years, died at the Greene County Memorial Hospital at 10:30 a.m. yesterday, Oct. 25, 1954, after a lingering illness lasting two years.

Born Oct. 16, 1889, at Rogersville he was the son of the late Albert and Elmira Smith Throckmorton. His wife, Audra Hampson Throckmorton, survives as does a daughter, Margaret, at home.

Mr. Throckmorton graduated from Waynesburg College in the class of 1912. He is only the second member of the class of 1912 that has died. In 1916 he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Law School and at the time of his death was qualified to practice law before all the courts in Pennsylvania as well as the U. S. Superior Court.

He served two terms as district attorney of Greene County. He was first elected in 1933 and for his second term in 1943. To add to his busy and eventful days in court, he was an ardent fisherman, a member of the Greene County Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Isaac Walton League of America and spent much time in the church. He was a member and taught the Men's Bible Class of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg for many years. He was a past president of the Greene County Bar Association.
