Television Writer, Producer. He was a creative force in the popular TV programs "Diff'rent Strokes," "Silver Spoons" and "Who's the Boss." Born in San Francisco, he attended Stanford University, from where he studied Theater Arts. He began his television career during the mid-1950s as a stage manager, and later advanced to assistant director with ABC. Beginning in the early 1970s, Cohan started contributing scripts to the programs "The Odd Couple," "The Partridge Family," "All in the Family," "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and "The Bob Newhart Show." In addition, he co-created the series "Silver Spoons" and "Who's the Boss," also serving as executive producer of the later.
