Betty I. Metcalf, age 88, died peacefully in her sleep on May 20, 2010 at Bennion Care Center in Taylorsville, Utah.

She was born to Jack and Alice Miles on November 24, 1921 in Ogden, Utah. She married Royal E. Metcalf in 1939.

Mom and Dad were members of the Lion's Club for many years. Together they owned Hyland Bowling Lanes and enjoyed many years of bowling. They loved spending their summers together at Flaming Gorge. After retirement, they loved to spend their summers golfing and the winter months traveling.

Betty is survived by her children; Darlene (Denny) Strain, Betty Jean (Dal) Snedaker, Jim (Carol) Metcalf and Debbie Bass; nine grandchildren and many great and great-great-grandchildren as well as one sister Lila Passey. Preceded in death by her husband, Royal, and her grandson, Christopher Snedaker.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1495 East), East Millcreek, Utah.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
