Marcela Anglin was united in matrimony at a very young age to Seymour Green. They decided to leave their island home of Jamaica and come to the Isthmus of Panama in search of a better life. Seymour would eventually obtain employment with the Panama Railroad as an expert blacksmith.

Marcela, or Nani as we all referred to her, was devoted to her home, husband and her six daughters Rosa, Hilda, Elsa, Daisy, Mary and Winifred. She also raised several grand children with equal love and affection. She was always extremely loving and gentle and was a good listener to her grand children. For a women with a very basic primary education she insisted that her grand children finish school.

She was a devout Methodist and while she lived in Colon she customarily attended Christ Church by the Sea, one of the oldest Churches in the Republic. When she came to live in Panama City in her later years she actively attended Methodist Church in Santana where she is fondly remembered.

May all grandmothers be as selfless and affectionate as Marcela Green, who earned her wings to Glory.
