Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Newcomer Funeral Home and Mortuary, 901 S. Sheridan, Lakewood, Colo. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, in Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colo.
She was born October 15, 1928, in St. Catharine, daughter of Ira and Alice (Smith) Newman. She married Earl J. Croy, July 24, 1946.
Dorothy was a homemaker and known for her cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Earl; three children, Earl S. Croy and Evelyn Dodd, Littleton, Colol., Kathy (Croy) and John Bruneau, Aurora, Colo., and Mark Croy and Lori Hamilton, Fulton; several grandchildren; Paul Bruneau and Melissa Agnew, Aurora, Colo., Erin and Eric Croy, Littleton, Colo., Allen Croy, Kathryn "Annie" Arnone, Heather Billups, Ashley Singleton, Robert and Mark McKee, of Missouri; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marie Agnes Newman and Margaret Pettit; and her brother, Richard Newman.
