On the 1850 Census of Shreveport, Caddo, Louisiana just after that she was Caroline Turner.
All subsequent U.S. Federal Census records as well as City Directories of Mobile, Alabama, she was lited as Caroline Turner.
Yet, her death certificate to the right: Catherine Turner.
Father: John H. Wilson birth place, Scotland.
Mother: Caroline Denmark birth place Sumter Co., Alabama.
On US Federal Census records this couple was listed correctly for the father: John H. Wilson for 1850 & 1860; yet the wife was Sarah and Sallie; residing in Shreveport, Caddo, Louisiana. No further information on this couple.
I obtained this by going directly to the Mobile Public Health Dept. back in 1979 with the good help of my cousin, Clarice Turner Waters of Mobile.
NEWSPAPER OBITUARY ~ Appearing in the Pauls Valley, Garvin, Oklahoma newspaper, June 25, 1914 names a surviving sister, Mrs. Margaret Watson, wife of James Watson of the area.
