Erlene Chastain, 54, of 299 Bowen Road, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Lum and Eva Patterson King. She had been a self-employed child-care provider.

Surviving are her husband of thirty-nine years, Sonny; two daughters, Tammy Erlene Chastain of Greenville and Krystal Jean Ruth Chastain Damesworth of Dresden, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Haley Erlene Damesworth; five sisters, Pearl Williams, Alza Lee Rainey, Ann Roberson, Frances Roberson and Thelma King, all of Greenville; and two brothers, Harold King and Calvin King, both of Greenville. She was predeceased by a daughter, Shelby Elaine Chastain, and nine brothers and sisters.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest, with burial in Graceland Cemetery, West.

Visitation: 7 to 8:30 tonight, Nov. 13, 2003, at the funeral home.
