Daughter of Jean Claude Mulin & Pierrine Dubois. Born at Rennes, Doubs, Franche-Comte, France, a small town near Salins, where her husband, Jean Antoine Bourbon, was born. (Rennes is now known as Rennes-sur-Loue, Doubs, Franche-Comte, France.) Her marriage announcements (in French, called "publications") were posted in Salins and Rennes on 10 & 17 July 1842. Alexise and Jean Antoine were married at Rennes on 25 July 1842. Witnesses at the wedding included two of her brothers, Francois & Charles Mulin, and her brother-in-law, Jean Pierre Bourbon. At the time of her marriage, she was living on a farm near Rennes, with her widowed father who was age 55. Her mother died at Rennes on 9 September 1831. Rennes was a very small town -- there were only four marriages in Rennes in 1842, and there were many people with the surname Mulin. The mayor who recorded the marriage of Alexise and Jean Antoine was named Joacim Mulin, and he may have been her uncle. Alexise had at least four brothers, Francois, Joseph, Charles & Jean Auguste. In France, the Mulin and Bourbon families were all farmers and raised grapes. In 1855, Alexise and husband Jean Antoine were part of the Bourbon-Bourgeret immigration to Missouri. Jean Antoine & Alexise brought with them three children who were born at Salins: Josephine, born 1846; Jean Louis "Louis", born 1850; and Marie Louise "Mary Louise," born 1853. Their other children were born in Missouri.
