The third child of Amable and Rosina Beaudry, Charles Lincoln was born in Winchendon, Massachusetts some ten months after Amable's return from the Civil War. He was probably given the President's name as his middle name as a tribute.

The family moved soon thereafter to DeKalb County, Missouri, where Charles spent his boyhood years and his early twenties. In 1890, he moved to Chicago and was employed as a bookkeeper. His older brother, William, followed him to Chicago in 1893. The two went into the nursery business together, with Charles being the salesman. Eventually, Charles when into business for himself in the florist/nursery trade.

Charles married Chicago native Harriet "Hattie" May Cook on August 25, 1895. Hattie was the owner/operator of Beaudry Beauty Salon at 63rd and Harvard on Chicago's South Side for many years. The couple had no children.

Hattie died October 23, 1923 in Chicago. She was a member of the Normal Park (Illinois) chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star (O.E.S.), a women's Masonic group. Charles continued to live in Chicago for four more years; in 1927 entered the Illinois Masonic Home in East Nelson Township (about 200 miles southwest of Chicago) and remained there until his death.
