Frank Howard, 90, of Grand Forks, North Dakota formerly of Hatton, North Dakota died Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 4, 2010 in the Hatton Prairie Village Chapel in Hatton with burial in St. John Cemetery in Hatton.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Francis "Frank" Howard was born November 20, 1919 in Binghamton, New York the son of John and Helen Howard. He was raised and educated in Binghamton. During World War II he served in the United States Army and then joined the United States Air Force being stationed in the Philippines. In 1947 he was united in marriage to Pilar Gregorio in the Philippines. He then served during the Korean Conflict and afterwards was again stationed in the Philippines for many years. In 1967 he was assigned to the Grand Forks Air Base where he was stationed until he retired. Upon retiring they then moved to Hatton, North Dakota. Mrs. Howard passed away in 1981. On August 3, 1983 he was united in marriage to Pilar Salvador in the Philippines. They made their home in Hatton until moving to Grand Forks in 1995.

Frank enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, carpentry work, refinishing furniture and cutting wood for winter.

He is survived by his wife, Pilar of Grand Forks, North Dakota; daughters, Linda (Dado) Bascon of the Philippines, Sparkle (Chris) Yeargen of Hatton, North Dakota and Maria (Wilbert) Terrel of Bastrop, Louisiana; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Clark and Mary Mariority both of Binghamton, New York. He was preceded in death by his parent and his wife, Pilar.

The Bilden Funeral Home of Hatton is assisting the family with the arrangements.
