Valentin is the son of Thomas Oschegger and Theresia Kristof.
On the 19th of June 1910 he married Katharina Obiltschnig and from this union one son and 3 daughters were born.

After the death of his wife, Valentin immigrated to the US he left Hamburg in 1924 landing in Ellis Island on the ship SS Hansa on the 25th of Sep 1924. Leaving his life and family in Feistritz, Austria to make a better life for his children and himself in Oakland, California.

1930 Census- Valentin was named incorrectly he is listed as Oscar Valentine a cabinet maker in a mill, is widowed, not employed and paying monthly rent of $25.

His son Joseph is a blacksmith in auto parts and his daughter Paula is a housework Servant both working and his youngest daughter Regina is not working.

He does not own a radio set and does not live on a farm.

He states he immigrated in 1924 and naturalization is pending application. All three of his children are all listed as Alien and immigrated in 1929.

The entire family speaks German and they and their parents are all from Austria. They all read and write.
