Died on Saturday, May 29 in Kalamazoo, MI at his uncle's home while attending a family gathering. He was born on April 26, 1935 in Toledo, OH to Albert and Helen (Mazie) McKinnon. Al attended Waite High School and joined the US Marines during the Korean War serving from January 16, 1953 until January 15, 1956. He was a security guard, but most of his life he worked for Conrail. Al loved bird watching and nature programs. He was a very compassionate, caring and giving person. Al enjoyed playing Yahtzee, bowling, bingo, baseball, UNO games and he loved the word of God. Surviving are children, John Michael (Kathy) McKinnon of Jacksonville, FL and Terry McKinnon of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Mandee, Michael and Kelly; siblings, Helen (Art) Henkel of Fremont, Elizabeth (Conrad) Beattie of Douglasville, GA and Steve (Faye) Fredrick of Flat Rock, MI and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Albert, mother Helen Fredrick, brother, Jack and sister, Eleanor Billie.
