James Manning
BIRTH 1791 in Big Meadows, Slippery Rock Twp., Lawrence, Pennsylvania, USA
DEATH 13 MARCH 1851 in Slippery Rock, Lawrence, Pennsylvania, United St

Father: Sgt. John Manning
Mother: Nancy Woodel AKA Woodle

Some people feel the dates should be:

"James MANNING
Birth 13 Oct 1794 in Slippery Rock, Lawrence, Pennsylvania, United States
Death 13 Mar 1854 in Slippery Rock, Lawrence, Pennsylvania, United States"

*********************

The big problem with this is that, if you subtract the father's birth year from the son's birth year, you get

1791 minus 1721 This John would have to have had this son when he was 70 years old!!! This was one lively old guy.

Something doesn't quite compute here!!! And he was 32 years older than his wife!!

However, it is reported the father lived to 116 years of age, so maybe he was just a very healthy guy.

"Think a generation was skipped here for John Manning 1818 - 1871. He was NOT son of James Manning and Martha Shaffer Manning, he was son of John Manning and Sarah F Munnel. And this John 1797 - 1874 who was married to Sarah F Munnel was son of John Manning and Nancy Woodel. This John and Nancy had the James Manning you are speaking of born 1794 that you have for father of John born 1818."
