North County Times, San Diego and Riverside Counties, California, March 20, 2002

Verna G. Eaker, Sun City, 93, died Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Wildomar. Born Sept. 4, 1908, in Troy Mills, Iowa, she lived in Sun City for 30 years. She was a sales associate at Mary Elizabeth Department Stores in Grand Forks, N.D., for 10 years. She was a member of the Lady's Golf Club at North Course in Sun City and Sun City Bible Church and the church choir. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed fishing.

Mrs. Eaker is survived by her husband; two daughters, two sons, three brothers. two sisters; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Sun City Bible Church. Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery Association, 213 N. Broadway in Crookston, Minn. A private cremation is planned. Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory in Sun City is handling arrangements.
