GENARO GARCIA DIES: FUNERAL RITES MONDAY
Funeral services for Genaro Garcia of 3621 Maple Ave., Fairmont City, will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in Holy Rosary Church, Fairmont City. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, St. Louis.
Mr. Garcia died at 9:09 p.m Thursday in Firmin Desloge Hospital, St. Louis. He had been ill and hospitalized with a gall bladder ailment for one week. He was 71 years old.
Born in Asturias, Spain, Mr. Garcia lived in Fairmont City for 33 years. He was a smelter worker for American Zinc Co., Fairmont City, for 30 years until he retired three years ago. He was a member of the Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers Union Local 82.
Survivors include his wife, Caroline, three daughters Miss Jeanne Garcia of St. Louis, Mrs. Walter (Caroline) Lechner of St. Louis and Mrs. Norman (Josephine) Halbe of Granite City, one brother Frank of Fairmont City; two brothers and a sisiter in Spain and three granchildren.
