Mrs Anna P Abernathy, 651 E Lackawanna Ave, Olyphant, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital after an illness. She was the widow of Cmdr O’Dell Abernathy [sic], who died in 1977. Born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late John and Anna Harwin Palfrey, she was a member of Holy Ghost Church, Olyphant. Surviving are five sisters, Mathelda Graves of Chapman Lake, Regina Owens and Marie Valentini of Olyphant, Rita Chonko of Buffalo NY and Vera Kiker of Boulder CO; a brother, Bernard Palfrey of Throop; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Saturday from Michael P Glinsky Funeral Home, 129 Grant St, Olyphant, with mass of Christian burial in Holy Ghost Church.
