Karin Daniell Rush Blankenship, 30 years of age, the wife of Butch Blakenship of London, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, June 6th, 2010, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

Karin was born in Laurel County, Kentucky on May 14th, 1980, daughter of James Calvin Rush and Hazel Faye Southard Rush. Karin was 32 weeks pregnant with twins and had two older boys at home. She also worked as a nurse at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky. She woke up on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 with a terrible headache. She knew she was very sick but she just didn't know with what. Karin suffered from a severe infection that got into her nervous system. The infection was so bad that doctors opted to deliver her twins and fly them and Karin to the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Karin never got to see the babies, a boy and a girl. She died on Sunday.

Karin was survived by her husband, Butch Blakenship; four children, Hayden Silas Blankenship, James Evan Blankenship, Aaron Clay Blankenship, and Piper Noelle Blankenship, all of London, Kentucky; her parents, James Calvin Rush and Hazel Faye Southard Rush of London, Kentucky; father-in-law, Charles Blankenship and mother-in-law, Vickie Blankenship of London, Kentucky; grandparents, Earl and Ollie Blankenship of London, Kentucky, and Jerry and Doris Reeves of Corbin, Kentucky; a brother-in-law, Derek Cornett; a sister-in-law, Jessica Cornett of Versailes, Kentucky; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

Visitations were held after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 at the House-Rawlings Funeral Home in London, Kentucky.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 in the Chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Miller and Rev. Donald Tackett officiating.

Interment followed in the Felix Rush Cemetery in Laurel County, Kentucky.

THIS IS A TRIBUTE IN MEMORY OF KARIN,

I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun
of happy memories
that I leave when my life is done.
