Josephine Belshinenova was born in Mayto, Bohemia, March 27, 1827, and died at her home in Stanton Township, May 25, 1915 at the age of 88 years. In 1852, she was married to Joseph Yager of Mayto, Bohemia to which twelve children were born. Of these, seven died in youth and five are still living. They are Mrs. Josephine Matous of Pittsburg, Pa., Mrs. Barbas Srna, of Glasco, Kan., Wm Yager of Glasco, Kans., Mrs. Agnes Stumpf of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Tonnie Shultz of Delphos, Kans. There are twenty-five grandchildren.

In the year 1876, the family settled on a homestead in Stanton township in this county. In 1883, the family moved to Delphos where Mr. Yager opened up a tailor shop which business he conducted until his death June 20, 1902. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Yager moved back to the farm where she lived until her death.

Rev. L. M. Alexander, of Ada conducted the funeral services. The remains were laid to rest in the Bohemian cemetery north of Ada.
