Services for the Rev. Dr. Blaine Lambert, 85, pioneer Minnesota Methodist minister, who died Sunday, were held Tuesday in the Park Avenue United Methodist Church. Lambert lived in the Walker Methodist Residence, 3701 Bryant Av. S.
For six years in the early 1920s, Lambert was a Methodist district missionary in then-isolated settlements north of Bemidji. He often traveled on foot in winter with his knapsack and Bible.
From 1928 to 1934, he was superintendent of the Duluth Methodist district. After serving for four years as vice-president of the Chicago Evangelistic Institute, he returned to Minnesota in 1941 and was pastor in Taylors Falls, Kasson and Lamberton.
He retired in 1953, but was visitation pastor until 1963 at Park Avenue Church, Minneapolis.
He was a 1909 graduate of Hamline University, St. Paul, which awarded him an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree in 1933. He also attended Drew Theological Seminary in New Jersey. Mrs. Lambert died in 1969.
Lambert is survived by a son, Dr. Frank Lambert, Los Angeles; a daughter, Mrs. Louisa Avery, York, Pa.; and two grandchildren.

He married Marion Ethel Hunt 30 Aug 1911 in Blue Earth, Faribault, Minnesota.
