Elaine Castagno Parkinson died peacefully at Atria Senior Living Center on June 9, 2010 with her family around her.

Elaine was born April 9, 1924 in Salt Lake City, the third of six children to Barnard and Mae Castagno.

She attended public school in Grantsville, Utah, where she met her future sweetheart, Allan, in first grade. She graduated from Grantsville High School in 1942, and she and Allan were married in October of that year. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple in 1944.

Elaine was a member of a popular singing trio with Colleen Diderickson and Relva Winmill. It was one of the highlights of her life, as they sang throughout the state.

Elaine was an active member of the LDS Church, having served in many capacities, mainly music. With her husband, she served service missions at Temple Square, Jordan River Temple, Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and the Mission Training Center. But above everything, her family was most important to her.
