The only information that I have on the character of JOSEPH STEINEBACH was given to me by his granddaughter, MARIE ROSINE (PETTIT) BROCKWAY, during a visit with her in Washington, D.C., in June of 1989. According to Marie, Joseph Steinebach dominated his family like a dictatorial Prussian. He was much older than his wife, Mary, and was a very jealous man. He died of a stroke while out in his fields in 1918.
