Ina was the only child born to Ira M. and Gertrude Jane Bickell Slaten. The family lived on a ranch on High Hill outside of Soap Lake. In 1924, Ira was shot and killed by a madman who also wounded Gertrude. Gertrude's father, John Bickell then took Gertie and Ina back to live with him on his farm in Lewis Co., WA. Ina and Harvey went to High School together. She attended Business College in Chehalis and they were married shortly after she graduated.

They lived in Aberdeen, WA where their 2 daughters, Ella Jane and Glenda were born then moved to the Allison farm on Lacamas Prairie, Lewis Co. WA. Nancy, the 3rd daughter was born here. Harvey and George started a Lumber business in Moses Lake and the family moved there in 1947 where they spent the rest of their lives.

Ina was active in the Presbyterian Church, a 4H leader and was Worthy Matron of Silver Sage Chapter of Eastern Star.
After Harvey's death, she remained in the home that she and Harvey built in Moses Lake and continued to be active in Eastern Star, Amaranth and Senior Citizens until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer in 1988. Shortly after, she moved to Hearthstone Retirement Center and then was at Terrace Heights Nursing Care Center for the last few years of her life, where she died 16 Feb 1996. Her funeral service included a Eastern Star service, over which her Granddaughter, Irene Brown presided as Worthy Matron. She is buried in Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake, WA next to Harvey.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey and is survived by her daughters, Ella Jane (Lee) McCarley, Renton, WA, Glenda Ina (Bill) Anderson, Moses Lake, WA, Nancy Lee (Harley) Brotherton, Kalispell, MT - her grandchildren: Irene Siegel(Kenneth)Brown, Idaho Falls, ID, Karen Siegel(Sam) Deleone, Bend, OR, Allan Siegel, Renton, WA, - Harley, Allison & Magge Brotherton, Kalispell, MT & Eric Anderson, Moses Lake, and 5 Gt. Grandchildren: Jennifer & Scott Brown Idaho Falls, ID and Stephanie, Heather Heinrich & Noel DeLeone in Bend, OR.

She is remembered as one who never said a unkind word about others.
