George was the youngest child born to George Robert and Rhoda Allison. George left Toledo High School in 1936 and was employed by Grays Harbor Pulp and Paper Company and attended the George School of Welding in Hoquim, WA during that time. In 1941 he volunteered for the Army Air Corp. He served for four years, 17 months oversears in the South Pacific, 7 months on Iwo Jima and he was present on Mount Surabachi when the American falg was raised. This was an event that would be with him the rest of his life. He was honorably discharged in September, 1945.
He had married Marianne Jacobson on 20 Aug. 1942 before being sent overseas and on his return, he went into business with his brother Harvey. They opened Allison Lumber Supplies in Moses Lake, WA.and George and Marianne moved to Moses Lake in June of 1946. They owned and operated the business until 1963 when it was distroyed by fire. In 1971, George became a Realtor and retired in 1979.
He and Marianne are buried next to his brother Harvey and his wife Ina in Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake, WA.
