GALVESTON - Barbara Jean Martine, 65, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2005.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2005, in the Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home, Galveston, with the Rev. Samuel Alvarado, Pastor of Speak the Word of Faith Church, Galveston, officiating.

Burial will follow services Wednesday at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

A wake service for Mrs. Martine will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2005, also in the
Memorial Room of Broadway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Martine's family will be receiving friends for visitation at the funeral home Tuesday evening after 5 p.m.

A lifelong resident of Galveston Island, Mrs. Martine was born January 30, 1940.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Algin "Andy" Anderson and wife, Elizabeth; two of her children, Joseph "Joey" V. Martine III and Patrick Martine; brothers, Bibert Anderson, Andy Anderson and Jimmy Anderson; and also one of her sisters, Dorothy O'Conner.

She leaves behind her loving children, sons, Gerard Martine of Galveston, Frank Martine and wife, Christina, of Santa Fe, Michael Martine of Pearland and DeWayne Martine of Galveston; and her daughters, Catlry Terry and husband, Phillip, of Galveston, Jennifer Martine of Texas
City, Rose Simpton of Texas City, Brenda Alvarado and husband, Steve, of La Marque and
Michelle Martine of Texas City; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Sharing in her loss also, is Mrs. Martine's brother. Billy Anderson of Kennedy, Texas; her sisters, Mamie Miller of
Larue, Texas, Mildred Carithers of Baytown, Texas, Lavada Jorden of Brazoria, Texas, and Virginia O'Neill of San Antonio, Texas; a loving and devoted sister-in-law. Betty Anderson; her former husband, J.V. Martine Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; a host of other family and friends. She will be sadly missed.

Pallbearers will be Jason Guzman, Jimbo Anderson, Steve Alvarado, Jimmy Bluxne, Curtis Simpton and Ronnie Steelman Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be David Benavides Jr. and Ryan McKenney.

Mrs. Martine's family would like to take the opportunity to give a very special thank you to Amed Community Hospice of Texas City, The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and also to the entire staff of Seabreeze Nursing and Rehabilitation of Texas City. Your considerate attention and generous care given during this most difficult time is most appreciated. Your kindness will always be remembered.
