Mrs. Olive M. Rose, aged 72, widow of Sebastian Rose and a lifelong resident of Whiteley Township, died at 10:40 last night, Dec. 16, 1942, at her home near the Claughton Chapel Church. Mrs. Rose had been in failing health for two years and her condition had been serious for about five months.
A daughter of Thomas and Mary Ann Cosgray Mooney, she was born Whiteley Township and was the last of a family of seven children. She was a member of the Claughton Chapel Methodist Church and of the Women's Society of Christian Service. Her husband's death occurred a number of years ago. Mrs. Rose is survived by one daughter, Ethel, wife of James L. Varner, Jr., of Kirby, and four grandchildren, Mary Louise, James and Dell, at home, and Mrs. Teagarden, of Baltimore.
