Gretchen Ann Ambrose, 42, born in Burbank on December 29, 1967, passed away as a result of a severe asthma attack on June 10, 2010.

She is survived by her sisters Dawn Dhaliwal (husband, Chris) and Margaret Ambrose (husband, Howard), niece Kylie, and nephew Jack.

Born and raised in Southern California, she graduated from Palos Verdes High School and went on to become Student Body President of LA Harbor College before attending UCI, where she earned her BA in Economics in 1993.

She had a successful career in the financial industry and more recently transitioned into the IT Security field.
Among her many accomplishments, she was a professional speaker, amateur comedian, and received numerous business and professional awards.

She was a passionate advocate for mental health awareness. She enjoyed dogs, comedy, karaoke, VWs and organizing. She was a member of Toastmasters and Mensa.

Gretchen was bright, funny, beautiful, and fun. Her untimely passing is a terrible loss to her many friends and family.

A Vigil Service will be held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 18, 2010, followed immediately by burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, 5835 West Slauson Avenue, Culver City.
