Mary came to America during the potato famine from Tipperary, Ireland, and married Jeremiah Doolin June 10, 1867 at Our Saviour Church in Jacksonville. She helped Jeremiah farm and together they reared 7 children. Though she could neither read nor write, she was intelligent and managed her family and farm exceptionally well.
