Headstone in the Langtree Parish Churchyard, Langtree, Devon, England reads:

"Sacred To the memory of Humphrey Mallett of this Parish who departed this life the 29th day of January in the year of our Lord 1838 and in the 81st year of His Age.
Also to the memory of Catharine Mallett Wife of the above who departed this life the 4th day of August in the year of our Lord 1846 and in the 89th year of Her Age"

To my wife Catherine my mess. called Burchill Cottage with ground called the little park and corners meadow for her mother.

To my wife Catherine my leasehold premises called Quary Hills in Merton and £20 per year for her life from my estate called Burchills to be paid by my executor. In
case of non-payment of the £20 Catherine may distrain on Burchills.

To my daughter Catherine Bond my bedstead and featherbed and all the bedding of that bed (now standing in the parlour chamber) my best set of china and 1/2 dozen of
my silver teaspoons after the death of her mother, my said wife. All my household goods and cattle to my wife.

To my son Humphrey Mallet £25 per year for life from my tenement called Burchills to be paid by my executor, payments to begin 4 years after the death of my wife.

To my said son Humprhrey 20s yearly for life out of Burchill cottage to be paid by my executor, the first payment to be made 4 years after the death of my wife.

To my son Henry Mallett 20s yearly to be paid by my executor for life out of Burchill Cottage payment to begin 4 years after the death of my wife.

To my said son Henery Mallett £19.19s
To my son John Mallett £5
To my son William Mallett £19.19s
To my son James Mallett £19.19s
To my said daughter Catherine Bond £5

All the sums to be paid 4 years after the death of my wife.

To my son George Mallett remainder of my leashold messuages called Burchills immediately after my death.
