Mrs. Ingle was born in Floyd County on November 9, 1932, the daughter of the late James Alfred Miles and Adel Leming Miles. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for most of her life and was retired from World Carpets. At the time of her death, Mrs. Ingle was employed at the Piggly Wiggly in Armuchee in the Deli Department. She was a member of the Sherwood Forest Baptist Church and a member of the Golden Rule Sunday School Class. Mrs. Ingle was married in April of 1953 to Mr. James W. Ingle, Sr., who preceded her in death on November 14, 1997.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Lumpkin of Armuchee; one son, James W. "Jim" Ingle, Jr. of Rome, two sisters, Betty Smith of Rome and Mae Thacker of Kingston; one granddaughter, Lauren Lumpkin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ingle will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Sherwood Forest Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Jenkins and Rev. Mark Cosby officiating. Interment will follow in the East View Cemetery.
Mrs. Ingle will lie in-state at the Heritage Chapel of the Jennings Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. On Tuesday, Mrs Ingle will be carried to the church where she will lie in-state from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
