William Henry Armstrong was born in Tennessee and came to Texas as a young man. He located at Stone Point in Van Zandt County where he resided for one year. He then moved to the Red Oak community in Kaufman County. Much of his life had been spent in farming and for many years he owned and operated the store at Red Oak. He was twice married and the father of ten children.

William Henry Armstrong died at a local hospital Sunday evening. The funeral service was held in the chapel of Anderson Clayton Bros. at 1:30 Monday afternoon with I. Kirkland officiating. The active pallbearers were Donald Armstrong, Connie Armstrong, Jr., Calvin Armstrong, Jack Click, William Gus Smith and Gordon Motes. The interment was in the High Cemetery in Van Zandt county.

William Henry Armstrong was born in Tennessee August 1, 1861. He came to Texas as a young man, locating at Stone Point in Van Zandt County, where he resided for one year. He then moved to the Red Oak community in Kaufman county, where he had remained since. Much of his life had been spent in farming and for many years he owned and operated the store at Red Oak.

He was twice married and the father of ten children. Two sons and three daughters preceded him in death and he is survived by his wife; three sons, W.E. Armstrong of Hiram, Connie Armstrong of Longview, E.A. Armstrong of Paris; two daughters, Mrs. G.C. Williams of Red Oak, Mrs. J.P. Wallis of Red Oak; twenty grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one brother, Joe Armstrong of Tennessee; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Johnson of Tennessee, Mrs. Sallie Fowler of Terrell and other relatives. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
